Do You Know How To Fix That?

Getting your equipment serviced on a regular basis is important as it is considered life support equipment. Even though it’s been serviced by a trained technician sometimes things happen. Let’s say you’re on a dive trip preparing for a dive. All of a sudden you’re getting a leak from one of your hoses at the first stage. Now you’re thinking you’ll miss a day of diving so you can have a local shop technician fix your equipment. Did you know the cause of the leak is most likely a small o-ring that you can change out yourself? Hey, you can even change it there within a couple of minutes and be on your way to underwater adventure. That is, of course, if you had the knowledge and skills of an Equipment Specialist!

Understanding How Your Gear Works

Items like broken straps, blown o-rings and leaky regulators are common with diving equipment. It’s one of those things like getting a flat tire on your car. Knowing how to change that tire means you can continue on your way in little time. The Equipment Specialist course is designed to teach you how to “change that tire”.

How Your Equipment Specialist Class Works

In the course, you will learn basic repairs and adjustments that can be applied in the field to ensure proper function of your dive gear. Also, you will go over proper cleaning and storage techniques to extend the life of your equipment. Finally, the instructor will work with you on equipment configurations. You will learn how to properly set up your equipment in a way that is most suitable to your style of diving. In the end, you’ll have a deeper understanding of all that equipment you invested in and have been using on your trips.

Did you know Equipment Specialist is a great way to work on your Master Scuba Diver rating during the winter when you don't feel like putting on your drysuit? Your course doesn't require any diving and can be taken in the warmth of the dive shop classroom!
